尽管在播出四季后被ABC取消，由CMT电视网接手该剧播出了第五季，并且一早已经续订了第六季，但是《音乐之乡》（Nashville）的命运已经提前“尘埃落定”，第六季将会是该剧的最终季。《音乐之乡》将会成为CMT目前仅剩的最后一部有剧本剧集，但是2018年也将和大家说再见。其实在被CMT接手后，一方面女主角之一的Connie Britton在第五季中途退出，令该剧不得不走向全新的方向，另一方面收视也下降的特别明显，第五季18-49收视率仅为0.2。在确定了第六季将为最终季的消息后，执行制片人Marshall Herskovitz表示会在最终季带给观众更多快乐、热情和精彩的音乐，毕竟该剧的OST是相当值得一听的。《音乐之乡》第六季最终季集数减少为16集，将于2018年1月4日回归，而第六季后半季预计将在2018年夏季回归，届时大家就可以欣赏到该剧的大结局了。
